Window Sill Thermal Isolation Systems
High-performance glazing cannot address a window frame that conducts more heat than the glass. Such a frame can become so cold that it causes discomfort or condenses moisture in the air thereby creating favorable conditions for mold and mildew.
And, even advanced, low-conductivity frames will get cold if they are sitting on a conductive sill. For instance, conductive metal sills can carry heat out of a house in winter and heat into a house in summer. The solution is specialty sill systems which provide support for the frame without conducting heat.
